Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
Enterprise Architecture, Strategy Generation, Enterprise Architecture Capability Building. Recently, I was elected as the EMMM� Forum Chair for the 2015- 2016 period.
Q: Why did your organization become a member and what does your involvement look like?
Rio Tinto has been a member of The Open Group for many years and we have been involved in The Open Group Exploration, Mining, Metals & Minerals (EMMM�) Forum since its inception.
Q: How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization and the industry at large?
Yes, we align to EMMM� Forum and we use a framework based on TOGAF® in our architectural processes.
Q: What contributions do you hope to bring to The Open Group?
Increased interest in the EMMM� Forum and the value reference architectures can bring.
Q: Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?
Standards that enable more commonality that benefits all, companies, vendors & personal.

Biography
Neil has been with Rio Tinto Iron Ore 4 years and in that time he has introduced the Enterprise Architecture framework and managed it’s embedding as a Business-as-Usual BAU activity. Before joining Rio Tinto Neil had been in various industries; ranging from Australian Native Tile to commodities such as Grain and Iron Ore in the Strategy and Architecture arena. Neil has presented architectural practices at several industry conferences.
