Bio: Hello Everyone! My name is Jonas, I’m a Data Scientist by trade and a long-time ArchiMate® user. I recently teamed up with my friend Sam to start a new software company, Lyster. We met at Stegra, a startup that’s building the world’s first zero emission steel mill. Working in environments with complex supply chains and interdependent processes led us to appreciate the power of the ArchiMate Standard to bring clarity. However, we also see that there are barriers to adopting the ArchiMate Modeling Language and using it to its full potential.
Lyster’s mission is to bridge the gap between Enterprise Architects and the rest of the organization by making ArchiMate models intuitive and engaging. We are new members of The Open Group and we’re excited to meet you all at the Amsterdam Summit!
Forum: The Open Group ArchiMate® Forum
Membership Level: Silver
Q. How long have you been involved with The Open Group?
We have just joined recently.
Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
Until a few months ago, I was a Data Architect. At Lyster, I do whatever is required as we scale up, which is a mix of coding, recruitment, and customer support.
Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group ArchiMate Forum and what does/will your involvement look like?
We want to understand the current barriers to ArchiMate adoption and deployment challenges to see if we can develop software solutions. As we grow as a company, we hope to become active contributors to the standard.
Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large?
We hope to bring the benefits of Enterprise Architecture to a wider audience and increase ArchiMate literacy among non-architects. Hopefully our membership will allow us to find others to collaborate with on this mission.
Q. Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?
Having shared standards is incredibly important to create ecosystems of tools, practitioners, and services. The value of the ecosystem is then larger than the sum of its parts, which leads to win-win situations for everyone. The Open Group is a great enabler for these ecosystems to arise and flourish.
Q. What are your hobbies?
I love being out in nature, whether it be sailing, rock climbing, or trekking. I also enjoy reading and have a few ongoing side projects (coding, 3D-printing, carpentry).
Q. What book are you currently reading?
Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson
Q. What social networks do you belong to?
Q. Any last thoughts?
Feel free to say hi if you see me in Amsterdam in May 2025 or any events of The Open Group!
