Q. How long have you been involved with The Open Group?
I’ve been involved with The Open Group since 2021, when I earned my first TOGAF® certification. Last year, I obtained the TOGAF® Standard, 10th Edition certification and attended my first conference for The Open Group in Edinburgh. I’m currently finalizing my journey to become a certified TOGAF trainer.
Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
I have 15 years of experience in the IT and business domain, with the last 8 years focused on Enterprise Architecture. I started by supporting M&A activities on the client side and later worked as a contracted Enterprise Architect. Currently, I’m building my own company, where we provide EA consulting services, and as of this year, we’ve also started delivering training.
Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group Architecture Forum and what does/will your involvement look like?
Primarily, we joined due to my efforts to become an accredited TOGAF trainer. Additionally, I come from a region with relatively low Enterprise Architecture maturity, and I believe I can contribute a fresh perspective to the Architecture Forum, one that reflects the challenges and opportunities of markets that may have been underrepresented until now. I’m also very open to professional collaboration, which is something I already actively pursue with other organizations, individuals, and even EA tool vendors.
Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large?
Coming from a region where Enterprise Architecture practices are still emerging and often overlooked, I see great potential in bridging that gap. Membership in The Open Group allows us to represent this part of Europe and advocate for a more modern, business-driven approach to architecture, moving away from the traditional, ivory-tower and technically isolated methods that are still common here. I’m committed to strengthening the presence and recognition of The Open Group and its standards in Hungary and the surrounding region, both through consulting and education.
Q. Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?
For organizations in Central and Eastern Europe, joining The Open Group is an opportunity to close the maturity gap in Enterprise Architecture and become part of a global professional community. It allows them to not only adopt proven frameworks like the TOGAF Standard, but also to share their regional insights and challenges.
Q. What are your hobbies?
I really like travelling, exploring, diving, and speciality coffee.
Q. What book are you currently reading?
Great question. I re-read Eric Jager’s Getting Started with EA just before the Amsterdam conference. I’m meeting him there and really want to discuss the book with him in person. It’s a great starting point for practical EA work.
Q. What social networks do you belong to?
I am mostly active on Linkedin.
Q. Any last thoughts?
I’m excited that we’ve started teaching the TOGAF Standard and am looking forward to continuing the work.
